Questions On Jackson's Death

Posted Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:38pm PDT by Mike Krumboltz in Stop The Presses!

People search the Web to find answers. And Thursday, when Michael Jackson died, people across the country and around the world had a lot of questions. Below is a summary of some of the most popular lookups surrounding the untimely death of the King of Pop...

1. Who dubbed Jackson the "King of Pop"?: Searches on Jackson's famous nickname surged an astounding 3,645% yesterday. Related searches on who came up with the phrase were also extremely popular. While most believe that Jackson anointed himself "The King of Pop," according to sources on the Web, Elizabeth Taylor actually coined the phrase at a 1989 awards gala. Jackson is rumored to have insisted that MTV call him by his royal nickname.

2. When did Elvis die?: The sudden and tragic death of Jackson brought back memories of another king who died too soon. Queries on "death of elvis," "when did elvis die," and "how did elvis die" all surged into breakout status. For the record, Presley passed away on August 16, 1977. He was 42 when he died of an apparent drug overdose. Also surging in search: "When did John Lennon die." The Beatle was killed on December 8, 1980.

3. Heart attack vs. cardiac arrest: Reports that Jackson had died of cardiac arrest spurred incredible interest in the difference between that and a heart attack. A heart attack is when a portion of the heart muscle dies due to a blockage of the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. Cardiac arrest is when the heart actually stops beating. This can be caused by several things including medications and can also follow a heart attack if too much of the heart muscle dies.

4. How to do the moonwalk?: Jackson's signature step surged 56,873% on Thursday. Reminded of Jackson's heyday, people looked up tips on how to perform the move. An article from WikiHow gives would-be Jackos a step-by-step set of instructions, but you may find viewing a video from the master much more informative (if a bit intimidating).

5. Order of Michael Jackson's albums: There was also an instant surge of lookups for MJ's discography. All told, he released 10 albums. They were, in order: Got to Be There; Ben; Music and Me; Forever, Michael; Off the Wall; Thriller; Bad; Dangerous; HIStory; and Invincible. Jackson's biggest seller was, of course, Thriller.

6. What is vitiligo?: Though many believed that Jackson bleached his skin, the star actually suffered from vitiligo, a skin disorder that leads to de-pigmentation. You can learn more about the effect it had on Jackson and his revealing 1993 interview with Oprah from this article from CNN.

Those of you who make negative, and insensitive comments on line, stop being cowards and say what you feel in public. You will probably get dealt with and blame society, but the behavior you portray is really unacceptable, and you would just get what you deserve.

Okay "PigTurd" aka pegturn, you want to talk about morals, how about Forgivness and Respect, we are no better than other ppl, no one is truley better than anyone else, we all have our faults, I may be have a okay place to live but I'm no better than a homeless person.

You want to talk about whats wrong with this country, Its ppl like you who have no strength in your emotions, to care about anything but what you think is write and wrong, or white and black.

We are mourning someone who not only made gave ppl beautiful music but awesome dance moves, he inspired and will not be forgotten, but you would codem someone for there wrongs instead of looking on the brightside, thw right side.

Next time you talk about morals, DON"T!!!

It's so sad, so many famous people dieing recently, and many of them getting unnecessary publicity. Leave them be and let their families grieve for the loss in peace. Yes Michael Jackson's death is a terrible happening, especially when he had planned a comeback tour that was greatly anticipated by many fans. But really, the man is dead, mourn him if you will, the media should leave it be, we don't need to know every little detail about it, and we don't need to know what happens to his kids, if they were just some average persons kids no one, but the people involved, would think twice about it. It's bad enough they lost their only parental figure, but now they're all over the news about who is going to gain custody of them now, we don't need to know.

Michael Jackson rocks but it happend all sudden his death i guess he wanted to die cuz he had 100 song planned to be realesed after his death he was great but i feel bad cuz he wasnt a happy man cuz all u a$$hole michael haters give bad comments and say bad things about him thatz y he says he loves and enjoys his fans cuz he was a very lonely man he looks in the mirror and says i wanna die but the only thing that kept him goin was his fans until he gave up and overdosed his injections and they found him in his house overall he was great but his child hood where is it well he didnt have 1. Blame every one on earth y he died he might have committed suicide but if he didnt it was still all our fault cuz no one was lookin after him nd if they were they did a bad job seving a piece of a lot of good things. Remember Its all OUR FAULT. People do me a favor and post these all over the web its your choice but please DO it i want people to know why he died. Copy this Whole thing thx.

you have to admit, fan or not, MJ has made a huge impact on the music industry. even if i lived to be 150 years old, my life would be nothing compared to the 50 short years MJ has lived. that's how good he was. the good die young.

He may have been found innocent on molestation charges but remember O.J. was found not guilty of an obvious double murder. Money can buy freedom. He paid off the first kid and won in court on the second. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I don't think an innocent man would be accused of the same crime twice. He did admit to sleeping with children in his bed...and not his own children. Creepy.

People are sick and ignorant!!!!! The reason that people don't have sympathy for others is because its a dog eat dof world. Rather than help someone when they need it. The press and public proceeds to kick em when they are down. Michael Jackson is and always will be a legand in the music industry. Above all that he was probably again one of the most misunderstood individuals. All you negative people posting probably only know what the press decided to tell you. It extends far further than anyone can imagine. And now as a result of ignorance towards human life in general we have another death. As a star with his status how do you deal??? You wake up everyday knowing you've worked so hard to achieve landmark things in the music industry just to be robbed and ridiculed. Hes done what most people only wished they had the ability to do and should always be noted for that. The negative things that you only "hear" of should not be judged. In some cases theres no question as to someones guilt. In Michaels case all you haters had him wrong. I guarantee it. But live life being a shallow minded individual its what makes the world go round.... R.I.P Michael

He wasn't acquitted, he settled the cases.
There's a huge difference there.

Many idolize MJ thinking he is better than others. Remember, in the eyes of God we are all equal, including Michael Jackson. He had great talent, no doubt that.
