Questions On Jackson's Death

Posted Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:38pm PDT by Mike Krumboltz in Stop The Presses!

People search the Web to find answers. And Thursday, when Michael Jackson died, people across the country and around the world had a lot of questions. Below is a summary of some of the most popular lookups surrounding the untimely death of the King of Pop...

1. Who dubbed Jackson the "King of Pop"?: Searches on Jackson's famous nickname surged an astounding 3,645% yesterday. Related searches on who came up with the phrase were also extremely popular. While most believe that Jackson anointed himself "The King of Pop," according to sources on the Web, Elizabeth Taylor actually coined the phrase at a 1989 awards gala. Jackson is rumored to have insisted that MTV call him by his royal nickname.

2. When did Elvis die?: The sudden and tragic death of Jackson brought back memories of another king who died too soon. Queries on "death of elvis," "when did elvis die," and "how did elvis die" all surged into breakout status. For the record, Presley passed away on August 16, 1977. He was 42 when he died of an apparent drug overdose. Also surging in search: "When did John Lennon die." The Beatle was killed on December 8, 1980.

3. Heart attack vs. cardiac arrest: Reports that Jackson had died of cardiac arrest spurred incredible interest in the difference between that and a heart attack. A heart attack is when a portion of the heart muscle dies due to a blockage of the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. Cardiac arrest is when the heart actually stops beating. This can be caused by several things including medications and can also follow a heart attack if too much of the heart muscle dies.

4. How to do the moonwalk?: Jackson's signature step surged 56,873% on Thursday. Reminded of Jackson's heyday, people looked up tips on how to perform the move. An article from WikiHow gives would-be Jackos a step-by-step set of instructions, but you may find viewing a video from the master much more informative (if a bit intimidating).

5. Order of Michael Jackson's albums: There was also an instant surge of lookups for MJ's discography. All told, he released 10 albums. They were, in order: Got to Be There; Ben; Music and Me; Forever, Michael; Off the Wall; Thriller; Bad; Dangerous; HIStory; and Invincible. Jackson's biggest seller was, of course, Thriller.

6. What is vitiligo?: Though many believed that Jackson bleached his skin, the star actually suffered from vitiligo, a skin disorder that leads to de-pigmentation. You can learn more about the effect it had on Jackson and his revealing 1993 interview with Oprah from this article from CNN.

i am sorry that Micheal is gone about him being the biological father of the children is pointless just because a boy made the child does not mean a darn thing it is a man that will take care of a child and a bigger man to take care of another mans child so all of this stuff about him being the biological father is a bunch of bs those children knew him as dad and well it is my oppion that they should be taken care of whome ever dad said should take care of them yall miss the whole point those poor children lost the ONLY father they knew we should be more conserned about their mental well being not if the ONLY father they knew is the biological father.

The Lord is Michael Jackson's shepherd and Michael is now in the hands of a loving and merciful God. Let us remember Michaels gift to us as a great performer and singer and let us allow him to rest in peace. I am grateful for the many years of music and his incredible ability to dance. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but one day I hope to see him in Heaven. Rest in peace child of God!

He was a very gifted individual. Had health and other issues just like the rest of us. The man Michael could never be the child Michael. When the rest of us were out playing, he was working long and hard hours and in his interviews, it showed it was very painful to him. Give the gentleman a break. Racist and legal comments don't belong on a blog like this. Give his family the time and support needed to begin the healing process. Just think If he were your brother, father, friend, or what-ever. RIP, Michael. Most all people loved you and appreciated your efforts.

u all who r talkin bout how Michael was a perv and a molester are wrong and are just hating that he made it somewhere unlike some of u disgraceful people.U sit and watch t.v. all day and u didnt here about how he was not found guilty in these charges. And for the record Michael didn't bleach his skin, he had a disease called vitiligo which causes the skin to have de-pigmentation.

I know people are wondering what is going to happen for all the ticket holders for his shows in London. I, for one, feel bad for all those fans who wanted to see their idol in concert only to have him die a few weeks before.

They should ask music artists to do a "Michael Jackson Remembered" concert. You know - like have a bunch of artists each perform a Michael Jack song as a tribute for one big concert. I don't know if they could do 50 of them, but it's an idea. Maybe they can move it to a bigger venue and let all ticket-holders go to it.
