Manuela "The Yodeling Dominatrix" Horn Dominates The Yahoo! Yodel Studio

Posted Tue Oct 13, 2009 5:39pm PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

Austrian Amazon Manuela Horn, you may recall, first yodeled her way into America’s hearts--or at into least David Hasselhoff’s heart--on this past season of America’s Got Talent as the “Yodeling Dominatrix.” Her tenure on the show was short-lived, after she ditched her latex catsuit and bullwhip for a more ‘50s-retro housewifey look, which elicited disappointed red X’s from all three judges. But the spectacle of a 6-foot-2 yodeling blonde bombshell still certainly left an impression even after she exited the AGT competition.

So who better to parade down the sidewalks of Times Square today, for the Yahoo! Yodel Studio event in New York City, boldly demanding that passers-by sign up to record their own wacky versions of the Yahoo! yodel in a popup recording studio? After all, who would dare say NO to an imposing figure like Manuela?

While Manuela didn’t rock the full-on dominatrix gear today (Yahoo! is a nice, family-friendly site, after all), she did don the sparkly lederhosen of one of her many alter egos, DJ Yodel, which definitely made her stand out in the middle of Times Square (despite the fact that it’s a locale frequented by the un-wallflowery likes of the Naked Cowboy). See her in all her yummy yodeliciousness here, in my Times Square interview:

Manuela also performed to rally the crowds and inspire lookie-loos to yodel along to the many different musical genres available at the Yodel Studio, with a few very unique interpretations of classic hits. Like...

“U Can’t Touch This,” aka “U Can’t Yodel This”:

Sister Sledge’s disco hit “We Are Family,” now with 100 percent more yodeling:

Tom Jones’s “Sex Bomb,” remade as “Yodel Bomb”:

And of course, the America’s Got Talent audition song that put her on the reality map:

If only Hasselhoff had been around to yodel along...
