Kris Vs. Adam: Vote In The Idol Rematch!

When I read Wednesday morning that this season's American Idol results may have been affected by AT&T voter tampering (in Kris Allen's home state of Arkansas, some local AT&T employees apparently supplied demo phones at finale viewing parties and gave power-texting tutorials to party guests), I had only one word on my mind...

REMATCH!!!

I didn't just yearn for a rematch because of who I wanted to see win this season. (I'm trying to be impartial here so as not to sway the voting below, but my regular readers are well aware of who I was rooting for; there's no need for me to mention it for the millionth time.) I also was excited about the prospect of a rematch finale special airing on Fox, since I'm still going through post-Idol withdrawals one whole week after the results.

But it looks like that on-air rematch ain't gonna happen. The reps at the Fox Network have denied any sort of hanging-chad-esque wrong-doing here, issuing the following statement:

"Fox and the producers of American Idol are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate, and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition."

Oh well. That won't stop me from posting my own unofficial rematch, will it? So watch the two finale performances below (of Adam Lambert and Kris Allen's Simon Fuller song picks) and cast your vote on the message board below.

every year there are comments about twisted voting, because one of adams followers did not like the results lets start a rumor . Kris is more talented then adam, because he takes songs and makes the arraignment to suit him, is he a better singer not always, but who is here to stay, Kris will be around alot longer then adam. Look at Rubin he is doing broadway and so is fantasia American Idol is for talent but also longivity

Just because some people didn't like the outcome it doesn't change the fact that Kris is the winner. Accept it. They are both extremely talented in their own music styles. The opening statement, "All of America voted wrong." Come on! Adam is talented and will do well with all the exposure he recieved. As mentioned he certainly had more than his shareof it. Quit being a sore loser and raining on someones parade. That's pretty crappy.

Kris Allen is THE WINNER when is America and the press gone to start trating him like it.. I think whether you voted for him or not. He deserves the same press that Poor little Adam is getting. Kris is a humble person and hasnt spoke out badle that every question is about Adam.. Well get over it press, Adam lost... Kris is talented and he WON!! NOW print something positvie about the winner that America voted for!!!!

I'm sooooooo with you Lyndsey. And as I keep posting...Adam WORKED for it every week!!! Kris just did it for the heck of it and didn't even care til the end and even then thought Adam deserved it. If all voting was done like this contest there'd be a re-vote. How can it be fair when AT&T did that??? I couldn't even get one vote in in 2 hours myself. I like Kris and would've voted for him if Adam wasn't in the competition. But, won fair and square??? Yep if we'd all been allowed to get free phones and power vote.

Oh, LP...I was telling you for a while that Kris would probably win. I know they talked about the "power text" thing, but those little teeny-boppers have lightening-quick fingers & thumbs, plus most (not all) of Danny's votes went to Kris. I would like to point out that when they announced who would be in the finale & saying there were less than 1 million votes seperating the top two, they didn't say if it was Kris or Adam with the most...
I still love Adam, btw...but I think if Adam won, it would have been close, but if Kris won...it would have been by a landslide. That was pre-contraversy.

Scott, this blog is just in light of the AT&T news. It's just for fun. However, I do think if Fox ran a rematch special it would probably be Fox's highest-rated show EVER. The Glamberts would rally to try to get "justice," the Kris fans would mobilize to make sure Kris didn't get stripped of his title, and the A&T switchboards would explode. It would be so fun! Even Kris and Adam would have fun with it since they are friends. Come on, Fox! DO IT!

Wouldn't that be a great show??? You should email them a hint. Mega money maker. But, I'd hope they'd find a way to stop the circuits from freezing or whatever happened to all my calls for Adam. And I really wish everyone who doesn't like your site would just get off it and find one they do like or make their own. It's your opinion and your site. Period.

I think that they were both winners either way. Just that Kris was chosen as the American Idol, but we know that they will both succeed in their own way. Look at the Idols from past seasons, they are still successful in what they are doing whether it is singing or even acting.

I think Adam should have won... but Kris won so whatever...
But I was a fan of neither...I liked Allison and when she got voted off I figured she would like me to vote for Adam so I did... He should have won... But I am not going to go on and on saying that because Kris won and its over now... that is just my opinion...
