Beyoncé, Taking Risks
Ms. Independent herself, the forever bootylicious Beyoncé Knowles, hasn’t been your typical spotlight Queen. Despite being one of the biggest figures in popular music, Beyoncé is never caught by the paparazzi showing her lady bits, has never been “treated for exhaustion”, accused of “borrowing” from another musician and even more shockingly, she has been able to keep her private life just that, private.
So why, with her new album due out November 18th is it that Beyoncé seems to be breaking all her rules? Could it have something to do with the pressure she feels about her third solo album?
Beyoncé is known for refusing to answer questions about her personal life…until now. Rumour has it that the “Queen B” has opened up to Essence Magazine about *gasp* life with Jay-Z! Um…really!??!
Beyoncé did say that she was taking more risks with this album, but did that translate into how much she was willing to reveal to her adoring public?
After some digging into this rumour, I was able to find this…..
"I feel that, especially now, with the Internet and paparazzi and camera phones, it's so difficult to maintain mystery," she told the magazine. "And that's so important. Even in a relationship, I feel like not being that accessible is really important. If you think about Prince or Michael Jackson, or any superstars, you couldn't see them when they got off their planes or when they got out of the pool and didn't comb their hair. It's great that people see we're not perfect. But it's almost impossible to have superstars now, because people will never get enough. And it's not even about my music. It's about all the things that people imagine about me in their minds. But I can't satisfy everyone. I know that Jay and I probably do inspire people. And I appreciate people feeling proud. But this is the only way I've been able to stay sane, so why would I start talking now?” Why indeed B? "[Not speaking] controls your brand," she continued. "It controls what you want to put out there and kind of forces people to talk about what you want them to talk about." But then Beyoncé lets it slip that it was a joint decision with her husband to keep quiet. "We decide everything," she told the magazine. "My word is my word. What Jay and I have is real. It's not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It's real."

After about six years you’d hope what they have is real! Then again, people always speculated because it was never “confirmed” (the way we now expect) that the two were a legit couple. That is unless you count their collaborations, Bonnie and Clyde, Dangerously In Love or Deja Vu.
Beyoncé did however apparently open up and confirm that the couple is indeed married. They exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Jay-z’s New York penthouse, in a non-traditional ceremony (because apparently she’s not that type of woman). She also revealed that there was no engagement ring because people put too much emphasis on stuff like that.
So much for that Diva image eh?
Rihanna also isn’t Jay’s only good girl gone bad. Would you believe that Beyoncé's got ink?
It’s been reported that instead of just getting wedding rings, the couple got matching tattoos of the Roman numeral four on their ring fingers, how Pam and Tommy Lee is that? The idea behind it is that if they take off the bands for reasons such as work or any activity where wearing a ring could be an annoyance, a mark of some form is still there. (The number four is special to the couple because her birthday is September 4, his birthday is December 4, and their wedding anniversary is April 4.)
